We wanted to do something new together, and after buying a rundown restaurant and turning into a special Victorian tearoom / restaurant and then building a luxury stone thatched B&B (the first 5-star accommodation on the Isle of Wight) – we had no intention at that stage of buying anything else.
However, friends kept urging us to come and look at Windcliffe Manor as it was called then, and although it was very run down and unloved, as soon as we walked through the door we both knew it was where we should be. We looked at each other and said how Enchanting it was and that was the beginning of the creation of our Enchanted Manor.
At the time, we had no idea how we would be able to buy it, but because of what we had done in the past with business’s our bank manager had faith in us and lent us the money. We have lovingly restored the old manor and created a very special haven for couples looking for somewhere different from run of the mill accommodation for a romantic break or celebration, in a friendly atmosphere with first class facilities in luxurious but unique surroundings.
We have recently been granted a wedding licence which covers the next 3 years, and also won the best wedding venue on the Isle of Wight!
The location has always been a big attraction too - within walking distance of the village amenities, including local shops and school, as well as two lovely local pubs.
