Meet the Rightmove Data team
Alan Gearing
Alan spent the first half of his career working within a subsidiary of the Winterthur Insurance Group, becoming Head of their Estate Agency Channel in 1993. After leaving Winterthur, he was a founder shareholder and Director of The Asset Management Group, which grew rapidly to become the leading provider of property disposal and maintenance services to mortgage lenders.
He spent 8 years as Managing Director of Cubitt and West Estate Agents for the Arun Group, before forming The Inventory Exchange, an on-line Inventory and Property Inspection company and also worked on a wide range of consultancy projects within the residential property sector.
Alan joined Rightmove as Property Related Services Director in the summer of 2006, and has responsibility for Marketing and PR, and the development of new lines of revenue for the business including the development of the Rightmove AVM.
Nicolas Gates
Nicolas joined us in 2007 as Head of Data and Valuation Services. He brought with him over 11 years industry experience including senior positions at Paragon and American Express where he dealt with the management of relationships with major European retailers, and most recently the general management of a number of European markets.
Richard Warner
Richard spent the early part of his career as a software engineer, with a particular focus on delivering quality applications that met the needs of their consumers.
He joined Rightmove in May 2005 to project manage Rightmove's Automated Valuation Model. Richard was part of the design team for the AVM and having overseen the launch of the live system, moved into Product Management to build the AVM brand.
Richard has recently attained an MBA with Distinction from Warwick Business School, having written a dissertation entitled "An Investigation into the Impact of Subprime Lending on the Global Credit Crunch".
Adrian Hudson
Prior to joining Rightmove Adrian spent 8 years developing new products, managing projects and building relationships with a diverse range of companies from small specialist IT start ups to large multi nationals both in the UK and abroad.
Since joining Rightmove Adrian has been involved in a number of data and system design projects and his current role as Relationship Manager means he can combine his passion for working at the cutting edge of new technologies with the chance to work with some of the top companies in the financial sector.
Kirsty Hyde
Kirsty first joined Rightmove in 2003, initially looking after our independent Estate Agency members and then account managing some of our large estate agency members with over 50 branches.
Kirsty left Rightmove in 2006 to go and work in Estate Agency but returned to Rightmove in 2007, joining the team to look after clients using our valuation products.
Alan Barber
Alan joined Rightmove in 2007. He began his career at Sun Microsystems, working in both marketing and financial roles, and contracted with them on specialist IT projects. Alan then took up an academic research position consulting and project managing several European wide, and EU funded IT projects in the areas of healthcare and travel & tourism.
More recently he held the Finance Officer's post at a North London charity, working closely with the Board of Trustees, company auditors and regulatory authorities.
He is currently making final amendments to his PhD thesis which focuses on the application of pattern recognition techniques and system architectures, for the identification of cause and effect relationships within large scale data sets.
Bridget Teekamp
Bridget joined us from the sunny shores of South Africa in March 2008, after completing her Post Graduate Honours degree in Finance and Economics. She is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society and was placed among the top 15% of one of South Africas premier universities. Bridget brings energy, passion and fresh ideas to the team as our Junior Statistical Analyst.
She works closely with Alan Barber, is responsible for the quality of data, AVM related research projects and ensures that the Rightmove AVM remains at the forefront of the AVM market.
Ty Jenkins
Ty joined Rightmove in 2005 as the AVMs database developer where he stayed until the beginning of 2007.
After spending 2007 working on architectural projects and development for Rightmove public site he returned to the AVM in 2008.
