Meet the Rightmove Data team
Alan Gearing
Alan spent the first half of his career working within a subsidiary of the Winterthur Insurance Group, becoming Head of their Estate Agency Channel in 1993. After leaving Winterthur, he was a founder shareholder and Director of The Asset Management Group, which grew rapidly to become the leading provider of property disposal and maintenance services to mortgage lenders.
He spent 8 years as Managing Director of Cubitt and West Estate Agents for the Arun Group, before forming The Inventory Exchange, an on-line Inventory and Property Inspection company and also worked on a wide range of consultancy projects within the residential property sector.
Alan joined Rightmove as Property Related Services Director in the summer of 2006, and has responsibility for Marketing and PR, and the development of new lines of revenue for the business including the development of the Rightmove AVM.
Nicolas Gates
Nicolas joined us in 2007 as Head of Data and Valuation Services. He brought with him over 11 years industry experience including senior positions at Paragon and American Express where he dealt with the management of relationships with major European retailers, and most recently the general management of a number of European markets.
Adrian Hudson
Prior to joining Rightmove Adrian spent 8 years developing new products, managing projects and building relationships with a diverse range of companies from small specialist IT start ups to large multi nationals both in the UK and abroad.
Since joining Rightmove Adrian has been involved in a number of data and system design projects and his current role as Relationship Manager means he can combine his passion for working at the cutting edge of new technologies with the chance to work with some of the top companies in the financial sector.
Sarah Foakes
Sarah joined Rightmove in 2008 after completing her degree in Graphic Design. She initially worked as a Customer Services Executive for the Southern Region, in our Milton Keynes office, dealing with the account managers and estate agents.
Sarah joined the AVM team in the Summer of 2009 as our Business Support Executive. Her positive and friendly manner and experience with graphics and customers make her a real asset to our AVM team.
Dr Alan Barber
Alan joined Rightmove in 2007 and brought a wealth of experience gained through: academic research, consulting, and from several European wide, and EU funded IT projects. He began his career at Sun Microsystems, working in both marketing and financial roles, and contracted with them on specialist IT projects. More recently he gained experience in finance; working closely with Boards of Trustees, company auditors and regulatory authorities.
His cutting-edge research has led to the advancement of pattern recognition techniques and system architectures, to identify cause and effect relationships within large scale data sets. Alan continues to bring this specific expertise to the team, leading the analytical function within the group.
Dilip Bahirwani
Dilip joined Rightmove in late 2009, after completing his Masters in Information Systems Management from University of Sheffield. Prior to his post graduate studies, Dilip worked as Project Consultant implementing Finance & Treasury Management solutions for leading Insurance and Asset Management Companies.
Dilip has brought experience and new ideas, together with enthusiasm and energy to the Business and Statistical Analyst Role.
Ty Jenkins
Ty joined Rightmove in early 2005 when the AVM was essential a green fields project, as dedicated database developer. He stayed through the initial development of all the original Valuation Services products moving internally for an architecture project at the beginning of 2007.
He returned to the Valuation services team in 2008 in a general developer role and is currently the Lead Developer for the project. Ty works closely with both the business needs of the AVM, development parts of the AVM team and the overall Rightmove architectural team on continuing enhancements and new RIghtmove data products.
Greg Hawkins
Having completed his BSc. (hons) in Computing and E-commerce Systems in 2008, Greg launched his software development career at a market-leading company which specialised in developing products for online sales integration. During this appointment, he progressed their core commercial product - a web-based business management system.
Greg began working for Rightmove in July 2010. Initially providing technical support for an assortment of development projects to enhance Rightmove's public site product, he joined the AVM team in January 2011. As a software developer within the AVM team, Greg works closely with Ty on enhancing the AVM product, drawing upon statistical expertise from analysts: Alan and Dilip.
Aruna Rao
Aruna joined the Rightmove AVM team as a QA Analyst in 2010 after beginning her career as a QA Engineer for a leading IT Consultancy in India. During her career she has worked on many significant advertising products for Google where she gained invaluable experience and in-depth problem solving skills.
As a QA Analyst for the AVM team she ensures the quality of the AVM product meets the required degree of accuracy and reliability. Aruna is continuously striving to enhance the complete quality process.
