The Grammar is a superb mix of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments that form a desirable setting in the affluent area of Uddingston. These contemporary apartments are thoughtfully designed to an exceptional standard and benefit from modern features to ensure lower fuel bills. This great location benefits from good local amenities and excellent transport links into Glasgow City Centre.
Lifestyle
As a primarily residential location, Uddingston majors on family-friendly facilities and amenities. The high street, for instance, is peppered with major stores but retains plenty of smaller family-owned shops. The sprawling Tannochside retail park is one of Scotland's best locations for buying furniture and larger household items, while neighbouring Bothwell hosts the opposite end of the retail spectrum, with boutique stores along its main thoroughfare.
Resident life
With Uddingston's eponymous train station just a moment's stroll away, and the town's lengthy high street also within close proximity, residents of The Grammar can enjoy being in the very heart of town.
This is apartment living at its most central, yet established sandstone homes shield the development from passing traffic, which results in a surprisingly quiet ambience throughout the estate.
With generous amounts of parking provided, The Grammar's three well-spaced apartment buildings feel open-plan within their surroundings, and the development's low-rise design is entirely in keeping with Uddingston's existing skyline.
Leisure facilities
Uddingston offers plenty of sporting facilities for residents of all ages, including dedicated tennis, bowling, rugby, football and cricket grounds.
Places of interest
Setting aside the innumerable attractions of neighbouring Glasgow, there are plenty of other places of interest within easy reach of Uddingston. The historic ruin of Bothwell Castle is on the doorstep, while a couple of miles away, Hamilton is also blessed with a rich history, typified by its mausoleum within the landscaped Palace Grounds. Indeed, Hamilton has much to offer, from its famous racecourse to the rural beauty of Chatelherault Country Park.
Uddingston is just a short drive from East Kilbride, where one of the country's best shopping centres is situated, alongside a nine-screen cinema and a bustling ice rink. Other attractions in Scotland's largest town include museums and an extensive golfing complex, plus another country park and the ever-popular Stewartfield loch.
Travelling slightly further afield leads to the meandering tree-lined roads of South Lanarkshire's Clyde Valley, with garden centres and chocolate-box villages lining the route to the historic market town of Lanark and the World Heritage centre of New Lanark. Indeed, this whole county is blessed with plenty of natural beauty spots and historic sites to discover.

Schools and education
The Grammar was named after its location on the former site of Uddingston's acclaimed high school, which has now relocated across Old Glasgow Road to a bespoke new £21 million complex, offering state-of-the-art facilities for over 1,100 pupils.

Transport links
It could be argued that Uddingston has the best transport links of any town in Scotland. It is to Uddingston's immense good fortune that it is flanked by three different motorways - the M73, M74 and M8 - offering rapid travel in every direction. The border with England is around an hour to the south, while access to central and northern Scotland couldn't be easier via the M73 and newly upgraded M80.
As if that wasn't enough of a blessing, Uddingston also has a direct connection into central Glasgow along the A74 dual carriageway, through the city's rapidly gentrifying east end.
Uddingston is also one of relatively few residential locations where it's possible to catch a train directly to both Glasgow and Edinburgh. That makes this a tempting commuter location, with its proximity to the former city reflected in the various bus services that serve Uddingston. However, most people will be happy to travel by car, given the town's peerless roads network.
