Leisure Facilities

Riverside is located in the charming villages of Great Shelford and Stapleford, Cambridgeshire. Located in one of the most picturesque locations in the county, Great Shelford lies four miles south of Cambridge and is intersected by the river Cam.

Often described as the archetypal traditional English village, Great Shelford offers breathtaking views of the East Anglican countryside and idyllic scenery. Today the village has a wide range of facilities including two pubs, two restaurants, a library, a delicatessen, a bakery, a traditional butcher shop and two banks. The village also boasts a weekly country market and monthly farmers produce market.

Further afield, Cambridge offers The Grand Arcade and Grafton Centre with several high street brands along with independent shops and colourful market stalls. In terms of entertainment, Cambridge has plenty to offer, with multiple museums, galleries, theatres, cinemas and nightclubs. There’s also a vast range of cafés, pubs and restaurants serving food from all over the world. The river Cam plays a central part in the city, providing the opportunity to stroll along The Backs with the iconic view of King’s College Chapel.

Transport Links

Despite the idyllic rural location, Great Shelford is incredibly well connected with commuter links including the M11 (Jct 11) under 10 minutes drive from Riverside, giving easy access to London through to Cambridge, Thaxted, Newport and Stansted Airport is under half an hour away.
