The town also boasts the award-winning Foden Brass Band and the annual Transport Festival that attracts more than 15,000 visitors. Sandbach has a selection of schools catering for both primary and senior pupils. Wheelock Primary is close to Gilbert's Cross and Sandbach Community Primary is within easy reach. Sandbach High School and sixth Form College caters for girls aged 11 - 18, while Sandbach School, founded in 1677, caters for boys of the same age. South Cheshire College offers education to degree level and has business and professional courses.

Sandbach Railway Station near Gilbert's Cross is just an easy mile-and-a-half drive down the B4079 and bus services run from the town between Crewe, Winsford, Middlewich and Northwich.
