In 1688, they tried to start a revolution in Old Whittington. Three local noblemen met at the Cock and Pynot alehouse to plan to overthrow King James II. The ‘glorious revolution’ saw William of Orange become king. The pub, now known as Revolution House, is now a free public museum dedicated to the events of the time.

In 2016, we’re starting a new revolution in the village – a whole new approach to building super-energy efficient homes.
