Worden Park is the focus of fun in Leyland, with a wide range of attractions, including mini-golf, a hedge maze and miniature railway, as well as an extensive arts and crafts centre. Look out for regular events at the park. Cuerden Valley Park is also great for a family day out, offering acres of woodland and open spaces to enjoy.

You can enjoy football at all levels within a short drive of the development, with Premiership sides in Manchester and Liverpool, championship football at Blackburn Rovers and league one action at Preston North End. For your own sporting activity, try the well equipped Leyland Leisure Centre, Fox Lane Sports and Social Club, or the golf courses at Leyland Golf Club and Shaw Hill Golf and Country Club.

Leyland has a good selection of friendly bars and restaurants, including the highly rated Bangla Spice, within walking distance of the development. The Viceroy and Thindian restaurants in town also offer high quality Indian food and are recommended. For British menu, try Foxholes, or discover the Italian tastes of Isobella.

There are also a number of great gastro pubs in the area, including the Gables and the historic Eagle and Child.

Local Shopping

Leyland offers a more welcoming shopping experience than many towns, with a wealth of friendly, independent shops and a popular market every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Nearby Preston has an extensive pedestrianised centre, as well as the Fishergate and St Georges shopping centres. Closer to home there is a Tesco Extra store just a few minutes from the development.

For a more unusual shopping trip, head for Botany Bay on the M61, which has five floors of fascinating stores and restaurants in a converted mill, making for a great day out for all the family.

Education

Leyland Station has a 60 space car park, offering an easier alternative if you are travelling for work or shopping in Preston, with regular trains taking just 5minutes. Manchester is just 50minutes by train and Liverpool around an hour. Direct trains run from Leyland to London in just over two hours.
