    Established in 1992

    Acres was founded by three highly experienced partners; Nigel Deekes, Michael Weaver and Richard Bakewell.

    The partners had been within the property industry for many years and offered a wealth of knowledge and experience having been both regional and area managers for a large multi national group after the sale of a previous successful business.

    In recent years Acres has become a family owned business with the partners Nigel & Jayne Deekes now running the company, joined by both Chris and Katie their children Acres now offer a truly bespoke personal service.

    Looking where the corporate agencies were, the partners knew that we offered something different for the Great Barr property market that was missing, a personal proactive service.

    Growing steadily and expanding from a new start Acres soon established ourselves as the sales team within the area. Acres bring together property experts and can supply every property need under one roof. There really isn't anything we can't do, from residential sales and lettings, to land sales or acquisition.

    Chris Deekes DEA Branch Manager
    From a young age Chris has always been focused on a career within estate agency & lettings. Chris took a decision when joining to work for a local letting agency to gain an in-depth wider knowledge of property. Working away purposely from the family business initially to gain wider experience, Chris several years later joined Acres, moving to property sales, where he has found his forte. Based at Acres Great Barr office, he manages a focused team that really has works well. A family business, and family run office Chris's focus is upon service, sales and results proven by the strength of the very busy Great Barr office. A keen squash and footballer Chris lives locally and enjoys additionally spending time with family and friends.

    Natalie Price - Administrator
    Natalie started her career in property working for a busy West Midlands Auction House at the age of 19. Developing her skills and experience in Commercial Agency and then within the Residential Auction department. She joined Acres in 2019 looking to kick start her career in Residential sales. Natalie joined the Great Barr office as an administrator helping with the progress of the sales along side her team. In her spare time she loves to be with family and friends, spending most of her time with her beautiful daughter Sophia. I've loved the years that I've worked in residential estate agency, and auctions. Joining Acres following several years within a property auction department, I was so pleased to be back in the frontline, client facing estate agency once more. Working with the team at Great Barr has been great fun and very rewarding. We are deeply committed to our clients moves, providing a first class service, reflected by positive reviews and thank you cards and gifts we receive. My role as administrator means that I have to have an outstanding eye for attention to detail. I thoroughly enjoy meeting clients in the office to discuss their move, or property requirements. We are an enthusiastic team that has moved the service and sales reach of the office on significantly, I have no doubt with the team we have here now the office will to grow and prosper rapidly.

    Lauren Parsons - Viewing Assistant
    I started my career in conveyancing at a local solicitor's firm, where I developed skills and experience in property law. I felt this would give me a great advantage within the Estate Agency world hence joining Acres and not looking back! I joined Acres in 2022 looking to further my property career in residential sales as I feel I work well with people and I enjoy meeting new people and helping clients find their dream home> With my previous role, I worked a lot within conveyancing which allows me to assist my Vendors with a smooth, easy transaction throughout conveyancing and to completion. On my days off I enjoy spending time with my friends and family going on walks or shopping in Merry Hill.

    Angela Simpson - 
    I joined Acres in 2021 after seeking a career change, having joined on a part time basis, I quickly realised that this role is perfect for me. I now work full time in the Great Barr office in, which I can be a part of their successful team. In my spare time away from the office I love to spend valuable time with my family, nights out with my friends and visiting my hometown in Newcastle.

    Laura Emery - Sales Negotiator
    I joined Acres in 2017 as a full-time administrator at the Kingstanding branch which I thoroughly enjoyed, I then moved to the Sutton Coldfield branch and soon progressed to become sales negotiator. On returning to work after my maternity leave in 2023, I moved to the busy Great Barr office, here I conduct viewings, deal with enquiries and negotiate offers. I really enjoy going out and meeting new people on viewings and visiting some lovely properties. In my spare time, I enjoy days out with my husband and two young children and going out for nice food and drinks with friends.
