    Property to Rent

    Belvoir Lettings has a broad selection of residential property to let including houses, apartments and cottages throughout the Mid Sussex area and surrounding villages. Whether you are looking for town or country living we will have something that meets your requirements. We offer a tenant matching service and always aim to find your ideal property, so you will really feel at home.

    We manage an existing portfolio of properties and also take new properties on constantly. This means that our list of available properties is always changing. You may prefer to register your details with us and let us know what you are looking for, that way we can let you know when your ideal property becomes available.


    We understand that you are not always available to view during regular working hours, and we are happy to accommodate late appointments. All of our viewings are accompanied by one of our friendly team members. If you see a property which interests you please give us a call and we can arrange a convenient time for you to view.

    Tenancy Application

    Having selected a property you will need to fill out an application form. An application fee is payable and this will ensure that the property is taken off the market and held for you while references are carried out.

    Belvoir Lettings Haywards Heath & Burgess Hill will undertake reference checks on behalf of the landlord. This includes credit history checks, along with employer and former landlord checks.

    In some circumstances, where a person feels they may not pass the references for reasons such as low income to rent ratio, a guarantor can be used or the rent may be paid in advance. Always ask us if you are worried, as there is usually a way around such situations and it's easiest if mentioned at the start.


    Rents are payable on a calendar month basis, in advance, by standing order. The first month's rent is to be paid in cleared funds, on the day you sign your tenancy agreement.


    A deposit equivalent to 4 - 6 weeks rent is also taken to cover any breakages, dilapidations or deductions which may occur during the tenancy.

    The deposit will be held by a third party - The Deposit Protection Service (DPS), for the duration of the tenancy and will be returned in full or in part, at the end of the tenancy following the Check Out inspection.

    Check Out Inspection

    At the end of your notice period, you will be personally checked out of the property by a representative of Belvoir Haywards Heath.

    The condition of the property and its contents will be checked against the original inventory that you signed at the start of the tenancy, to assess for any damage. Leaving the property in good, clean and tidy condition and in accordance with the guidelines we issue, will help to ensure your deposit is returned in full, and as quickly as possible.

    Deductions from Damage Deposit

    If necessary, monetary deductions may be requested from your deposit in respect of any costs incurred to return the property to its prior condition at the start of the tenancy.

    In such circumstances, an application will be made to the Deposit Protection Service and full supporting documentation will be provided to them for their review and assessment.

    Tenants have access to a formal Dispute Process should this be necessary, but every effort will be made to resolve matters without the need for referal to the DPS.
