    Our job is to select the best potential tenant for your property. Our state of the art software matches your property to our database of tenants and our qualified staff will appraise these tenants prior to viewing to ensure suitability.

    Choosing the correct tenant for you is hugely important to us, so we undergo the strictest of selection criteria which includes an independent referencing company for credit and financial checks, employer's references, previous landlord references, identity checks for proof of residency and copies of six months bank statements. Only once these checks are satisfactory, can we then recommend the tenants to you.

    We also offer a Rent Warranty for the first six months of the tenancy which you can choose to renew at the end of this period.

    As a result of the new Housing Act Wales 2014, landlords who own rental property in Wales (regardless of where they live) will be obliged to:

    • Instruct a Licensed Agent to manage their properties or
    • Obtain a Licence from Rent Smart Wales to manage their own properties
    • Register all their properties with Rent Smart Wales
    • Both Landlord and Agent Licences require successful completion of a one-day training course, a licence fee and adherence to the Code of Practice - Part 1 of the Housing Act (Wales 2014). Deadline for registration and licensing is 23rd November 2016

    Once we have selected a tenant it is very important that all the required paperwork is prepared correctly. As we are RICS registered we keep up to date with all the latest legislation. Not only will we produce a tenancy agreement we will also ensure that all the supporting documentation such as deposit certification and protection, standing orders, prescribed information and more is completed. We can supply one very important document the "Schedule of Condition" not provided by many agents, which avoids any future disputes over damage / breakages.

    On the commencement day of the tenancy we will ensure that the tenant has sign all relevant forms, that all payments have gone through and that all legal requirements have been completed

    • Introduction

      We are embedded in our community -  Est. 1862.

      The firm was originally founded as 'Whitfield and Sons' in 1862 by Mr. Thomas Whitfield. Based in Oswestry, the practice became one of the most successful firms of Auctioneers and Valuers across the Border Counties, Mid and North Wales.

      In 1933, Mr. W. A. Bowen joined the business and became the Sole Proprietor in 1937 before joining the Ministry of Defence shortly after the outbreak of World War II. The business was managed by Mr. Dodd, of Hugh Dodd and Co., who became a partner in 1943 when the practice was renamed K. Hugh Dodd & Bowen.

      Following the retirement of Mr. Dodd in 1967, Mr Bowen was joined by Jack Watson and his two sons Ted and Bill who also became partners under the new practice name of Bowen Son and Watson.

      The current partners Eddie Bowen and James Sumner have continued to expand the business by opening new offices at Wrexham in 2001 and Llangollen in 2007. Like their predecessors, Eddie and James consistently strive to meet the challenges of an ever changing property industry.

      James became a qualified Valuer and Surveyor in 1991 and spent 10 years working in Wrexham before joining Bowen Son and Watson in 2001. James provides specialist advice in producing residential survey reports and dealing with planning permissions and development land
