    The Company was founded back in 1896 by Charles Potter Walker, principally to manage properties that had recently been constructed by members of his family. The Company diversified into insurance soon afterwards, originally collecting premiums from shopkeepers along Beeston High Road and from the traders at Nottingham's Wholesale Fruit and Vegetable Market.

    & Son
    The designation "& Son" was added to the company name in 1926 when Philip Arthur Walker was made a partner by his father. Philip Walker took over the helm in 1931 and in particular expanded the company's Insurance department, becoming an underwriting member of Lloyd's in 1954. In 1956, Charles Philip Walker became the third generation of the Walker family to join the business. Charles Walker has been the Managing Partner since 1968 and is responsible for the running of the firm's Property Department.

    Family Tradition
    The family tradition continues into its fourth generation, with Dan Walker being appointed as a partner in January 2004 to enhance and further develop the specialist commercial property division. Sean Neal, who himself has been with the company for many years, also joined the partnership in January 2004. Overseeing the Insurance Department, Sean has a wealth of over 20 years experience within the Insurance industry, and has been solely responsible for developing a selection of our own unique brand of insurance products.

    Rex Walker, Lettings Manager
    Rex joined C.P. Walker & Son in 2009 having previously earned an MA in Property Valuation and Law. Rex oversees the residential lettings team and provides strategic advice to Clients in relation to their existing and potential future properties. Rex has two young children and is a qualified rugby union referee as well as being an enthusiastic but 'developing' member of the office golf society.

    Jade Longdon, Lettings Assistant Manager
    Having joined C.P. Walker & Son in 2012 Jade has gained broad experience across the lettings department, working with both professional and student properties in both negotiating and administration as well as overseeing the carrying out of inventories. She completed a Level 3 qualification in residential Letting and Property Management in 2016 and subsequently earned promotion to Lettings Assistant Manager. Away from the Office Jade enjoys being outdoors and keeping active, regularly attending the gym and camping (not always at Festivals!)

    Emma Hopewell-Ward, Lettings Negotiator
    Emma joined the lettings team 2015, and quickly established herself as a valued and well-liked colleague. Emma prepares marketing details for properties; arranges and conducts viewings; and deals with applications when they are received. Her current claim to fame is being a junior county table tennis champion but these days enjoys dining out and watching re-runs of The Bill.

    Julie Hobbs, Lettings Administrator
    Julie joined C.P. Walker & Son in 2004 and is responsible for much of the administration within the Lettings department such as in-house Tenant referencing, drafting Tenancy Agreements and preparatory administration at the start of tenancies. The Office's resident Travel Agent, Julie enjoys going on her own, and organising everyone else's, holidays as well as reading and following Nottingham Forest.
