    Sara Backlund - Property Manager
Being Scandinavian and living in different cities around the world, I am now pleased to call England, and particularly Oxford, my home.

I joined College and County last summer as a Trainee Property Manager and immediately I loved the fast paced environment and the warm and welcoming team. Today, my role is a Property Manager and each day has new challenges to offer. As I am a fairly new resident to the city, I find that working locally is fun as well as beneficial as I am quickly discovering different areas of the city.

I am excited to see what the future here has to offer!

    Stephanie Coll - Lettings Negotiator
After graduating from Goldsmiths University and having gained a degree in Drama and English, post London, my life has gone off on a tangent. I decided to return to my hometown of Oxford and I have just celebrated my year and a half anniversary with College and County. The culture here is as fresh as it is thriving and over the past year I have come to realise what College and County have as a team is rare and unique; to find a wonderful group of hardworking people who are truly willing to do what is right is not easy to come by.

I am currently in the process of transitioning into social media and marketing guru for College and County and I am excited to put my creativity and organisation to great use.

Tea boy and occasional odd job person ... Trouble shooter and media star; I have been with College and County since the beginning and have been fortunate enough to surround myself with a strong staff team.

I am ambitious and hope to be part of a business that continues to grow at 20% per annum whilst maintaining and improving services to clients and tenants alike. Through our adherence to ethical letting, we have been able to attract some excellent landlords who continue to invest in their portfolio to keep improving the standard of property available to let.

Tina Doyle - Director at Core Renovations

Having spent the last 11 years with the team at College and County, I am thrilled to be offered the fantastic opportunity to establish a new company focusing solely on Project Management for residential property homeowners and landlords.

Core Renovations will provide you a full service to refurbish and renovate your property. From conception to fruition, we work with clients to establish their property needs and ensure that these are matched to the final results. We fully understand that many homeowners and landlords do not have the time or resources to handle and manage projects, furthermore, in the rental market in particular, voids have to be kept as short as possible.

After nearly 20 years working in an industry that I love, I have been able to establish a great network of skilled and qualified professionals to work with. The chance to establish and create my own business based on the foundation of the ethos and culture of College and County is an exciting and thrilling prospect. I very much enjoy the pivotal role of Project Manager between the client and contractors. My ultimate aim is to ensure the end result is the highest quality finish achieved within budget.....and on time, to the satisfaction of all parties involved.

    David Gilson - Lettings Director
In 2007 I was studying a RICS degree at Oxford Brookes University specialising in sustainable development and became a College and County tenant. I have always had a real interest in properties and in particular, property investment. Right from the start I could see what a great culture and ethos Mark had created with College and County and in late 2007, I started my journey with C&C and became a viewing agent working part time around my studies. Some 10+ years on I am now Lettings Director and have been proud to see the company grow from strength to strength.

My goal every day is to ensure that whilst we stay at the cutting edge of the market with new technologies and grow as an agency and team the same care and personal approach that Mark gave when I started is always taken with every Landlord and Tenant to ensure what makes College and County great always remains.

Currently living in Buckinghamshire, I have been in the property industry for over 8 years. Initially I fell into the industry when I returned from 2 years of travelling but soon found it to be an industry that was fast paced, ever changing and challenging; all of which suited me perfectly and matched my personal life. I aim to bring a high level of customer service and knowledge of the industry to all of the customers that I come into contact with.

The team at College and County are all well versed, experts on the market in Oxford which is so unique to any other markets in the country that we are able to provide such a good opportunity to our landlords and tenants alike.

    Danielle Morton - Lettings Negotiator

I started my career in property by helping out with viewings during a busy period at a student letting agency. I found I really enjoyed the role and was asked to stay on full time.

From there, I went to a large and very corporate company which taught me the skills and knowledge of the property sector that I needed.

I then went on to do administration and property management within a smaller independently run company. My experience with this side of the sector showed me what happens after moving in, the tenancy itself and the end - a lot more work than one would think! I have now switched back to the lettings side and really enjoy College and County.

Working with a company who is so passionate about providing the best service to landlords as well as tenants was a real eye opener and I'm glad that such companies exist. It is a pleasure to go to work and genuinely enjoy my day and helping people find the right homes for their families/friends.

Oxford born and bred, to date, my best childhood memory is admiring the view of Oxford Spires from my back garden; still the best view of Oxford today.

I have been with College and County for nearly three years, in which time I have seen the team grow immensely, including the Accounts Department. What is nice is the fact we all are passionate and
believe in the same ethical culture of College and County.

Personally, I possess the same values as those of College and County which enabled me to fit in perfectly from the beginning and it's a pleasure to be able to illustrate these within the work place and the industry, for which I have worked in for over 20 years.

My Son will be finishing school next year and I hope he achieves the best out of life, as his Mother would like to pack away the calculator in a few years' time!

I am originally from Poland and have been living in Oxford for 7 years already and I cannot imagine myself in any other city in England. Oxford has a soul which I absolutely love. I am inexperienced in this environment and that for me is a big challenge.

My position at College and County involves mostly administration, but even doing that every day I am learning a lot of new things and my knowledge about the industry is quickly growing. I am really pleased to be at College and County because all the people who work here have a lot of knowledge about the property industry and I can see how much they want to improve every single day.

Born and bred Oxfordshire girl, I have almost two years' experience in the Property Management sector within Oxfordshire, after graduating from the University of Southampton.

I have been lucky enough to have previously worked with College and County in the Property Management team, creating strong relationships with clients and customers, and assisting in some of the larger refurbishment works. However, the world was calling, and I have been backpacking across South East Asia and Oceania for a year. I had the most incredible time, but home is Oxford, and I was missing Mark and the College and County family too much.

I am extremely excited to be re-joining the team and getting stuck back into something which I love to do.

Results speak louder than anything else.
Mark Crampton Smith owns and runs College and County with a very keen eye. I have been a landlord for 15 years and in Oxford for 5 years. I struggled to let my two houses this year and with all this deposit and HMO legislation i decided to give them a go as i had heard they had just won an award. They have found me two great sets of tenants and very happy with my experience. My other local agent had taken 5months to get NO tenants. Results speak louder than anything else.

Allow me to let my property with minimal hassle
A great service. They removed a lot of the hassle that is associated with property management, allowing me to let my property with minimal hassle. They have a proactive a efficient approach that ensured the smooth running of the property. Having had a bad experience with a letting agent before, I was wary of property letting however my faith has now been restored. I would thoroughly recommend.

    Testimonials from Tenants

Within half an hour our boiler had been fixed.
Last night our boiler broke down. The office was shut but I phoned on the off chance someone would pick up. Luckily College and County have an out of hours service for any issues that arise. Within half an hour our boiler had been fixed and the heating was back on. Considering it was -5 outside we were very appreciative of the speed and efficiency from Lily and the team.
    • Tenant Testimonial

I especially appreciated the clear explanation
As a tenant, I've been really impressed with College and County: my husband and I just moved into a new property and the service has been professional and quick. I especially appreciated the clear explanation of costs and process (this is often where other agencies go so wrong). They've been friendly and fair - essential skills for a housing agency - and there's been answers for every question I sent through. So far, so great! I'm really happy we've switched into a property with C&C. UPDATE: Feb 8, 2013. It's been one year since moving into our property. First, I must say, I love my new home. Things have been really smooth since we moved in. A few issues with our heating/gas were fixed with speed and the service was of high quality. There were a few minor issues where engineers were sent to the house without previous notice, but all-in-all, I'm still quite happy with C&C and the support they've provided.

Your Facebook maintenance reporting is Great! They have always been really good at sorting out problems we have had in our house over the past two years. A few months ago we opted to use Facebook to report our maintenance and we have all been so impressed! They get back to us almost instantly and its so much easier than using email as we can all get updates to our phones. Very impressed leaps and bounds better than my agent in first year.

I have been using this agency twice, I think they offer excellent houses and they are always very fast in coming around to sort out something broken. I can't believe what people say below, members of staff have always been so kind to us! I would say...trust this agency!
    • Tenant Testimonial

      Keep up the good work!
In the lettings business, community relations are an important factor, and College and County get high ratings on this - their signboards are removed pretty much as soon as the let has been agreed, unlike other agents who regularly leave LET boards up way beyond the two week authorised limit, and properties always look well kept from the outside, without rubbish being allowed to build up in front gardens etc. Keep up the good work! • Tenant Testimonial

      Friendly and helpful approach
Having spent three years living in a College and County property I can honestly say that I am somewhat sad to have left. Many happy memories from my time there will be with me for the rest of my life. Perhaps the most important quality Displayed by College and County that has helped me and my family leave with such a positive experience in mind is their friendly and helpful approach to doing business with you, the tenant. Their personal approach to the tenant-agency relationship makes them a joy to interact with and I would not hesitate in recommending them as an agent for anyone looking to rent a property in the Oxford area, I would certainly go back to them should a move back to Oxford be on the cards for us. They operate in a professional yet friendly manner and having rented from a few agents in the Oxford area previously I can certainly say that College and County stand out above the rest. Keep doing what you are doing and best wishes to all at College and County!
