    Newcastle upon Tyne - city centre

    Over the past few years there has been a vast amount of new build and redevelopment in the city with many buildings which were previously used for commercial purposes now being renovated into living accommodation. Some of the developments Adderstone Group and/or Exchange have been involved with and continue to manage apartments in include:

    Waterloo House

    In 2006, the Adderstone Group converted Waterloo House, a former Victorian Warehouse, into 31 beautiful apartments each of which are completely unique and incorporate many original features. Located next to Rehearsal Rooms, the apartments are set in an excellent location and would suit a variety of people with its very close proximity to both Newcastle and Northumbria universities and access to the city centre. They are located in the developing area of Grainger town, a two minute walk from Newcastle Central Station and the city's metro links.


    Completed in 2006, this new build development comprises a mix of one to five bedroom apartments, with some underground parking available. Located in the heart of the city centre, Rialto is the ideal location for students as it is within a few minutes walking distance to both universities.

    Gateshead Quayside

    This area is becoming increasingly popular due to recent developments such as the Hilton Hotel and Gateshead College. Other attractions include The Baltic Museum and The Sage Music and Arts Centre. This location is ideally situated for local amenities in Gateshead and only a 10 minute walk to Newcastle city centre. A selection of developments that we are closely involved with and manage apartments in include:

    Gateshead Railway Club 

    Conversion of a historic listed Railway Club into 25 modern stylish apartments. This development was completed in 2007 and is located next to the Hilton Hotel on the Gateshead side of the Tyne bridge. The walk into Newcastle takes just 10 minutes, and you can reach Newcastle Quayside in less than five. If you work in Newcastle, on Gateshead High Street or in the near vicinity, you will find a car is not necessary and walking to work a breeze.

    Half Moon

    The Globe was a derelict former public house which was converted into 10 luxury apartments in 2010. This development is in the ideal location for students, as it is within a few minutes walking distance to both universities. Union Studios is perfectly situated - less than a 10 minute walk to Northumbria University and 15 minutes to Newcastle University.     Durham City offers varying attractions such as its cathedral and castle. The university is one of England's top five and the city has a varying range of properties which cater for both professionals and students. We manage St Hild's Lane which was a derelict house in Durham City's conservation area. It is a mix of both renovated flats and purpose built apartments and ideally located for students studying at the colleges of St Hild and St Bede which are right on the doorstep. These flats also offer great links to the city centre, either by car or on foot. An excellent bonus is the free off street parking which is also included with this property.

    With over 10 years' experience in residential lettings, and as an ARLA Propertymark Protected agent, Managing Director Becki is able to ensure that Exchange Residential runs efficiently. With lettings and property management of equal importance in the company, Becki ensures that the process of advertising, letting and managing is of the highest standard. As a graduate of Newcastle University and a landlord herself, Becki has a breadth of knowledge of the North East and is able to relate to student tenants and landlords alike.
