    The London Borough of Bromley
    The London Borough of Bromley is not only the largest of all London boroughs, but it is the least densely populated with just 300,000 residents. This is probably due to the fact that half of the borough is covered by Green Belt Countryside making it London's greenest borough. There are over 100 parks and open spaces with some 112 million sq ft of grass verges and over 7 miles of hedges. The borough boasts some fine shopping centres throughout, both big and small as well many village High Street shops. There is a selection of theatres and cinemas, and together with many sports and fitness clubs, Bromley borough is also the home of Premiership Crystal Palace Football Club. Most of the southern half of the borough remains open countryside punctuated with communities large and small. Links into the City and Canary Wharf are excellent from the many railway stations throughout the borough and travel times from Bromley South to London Victoria are from just 19 minutes. The road network access to the ports on the Kent coast as well as the Eurotunnel at Ebbsfleet also make commuting to the continent that bit easier. Flights from City Airport, just across the river in East London connect with most of the UK, Europe and even New York, and Gatwick airport is only about 10 miles away from the south of the borough. The borough is brimming with history as well, and some of the more distinguished residents have included such diverse personalities as Napoleon III, David Bowie, Charles Darwin, Sir Malcolm Campbell and Enid Blyton.
