MAP was created by Andrew McKnight, who worked for the largest corporate estate agent in Cornwall for 26 years, latterly responsible for 19 offices across Devon and Cornwall. Andrew has trained, managed and recruited a large number of estate agents across the County who now work for various agencies.
All the team have been hand picked for their skills as both people and estate agents and have all worked together previously. We are new as a business and we are different

We recognise that our industry is about people and that's how we are are setup to work.
We are also very proud to have created a modern and hereto unequalled approach to selling our clients homes, which heavily relies on customer service, regular contact and perhaps most importantly this contact remains with the same person.
We have all worked as Estate Agents for many years in High Street offices. We recognise (and you are reading this online which proves the point) that in 2017 and beyond genuine buyers and sellers simply do not trawl the High Street visiting estate agents. Why would you when you can look in the comfort of your own home anytime day or night?
Virtually every buyer will start their search online, either with Rightmove or other websites (and we advertise on the other big one that begins with a 'Z' too!) We don't need a high street office anymore to trade, we need one that has great connections to the modern world and is really easily accessible for anyone who wishes to visit to do so, We think we are perfectly situated.
We also advertise in the West Briton and Cornishman newspapers and recognise that this is still important in the local West Cornwall market.
Our office is centrally located in West Cornwall and is located in one of Cornwall's newest and most high tech office suites. We have super high speed broadband, parking immediately outside and easy access to West Cornwall (we are less than 5 minutes onto the A30) and even have our own on site Cafe which is open to the public and a private Gym just for the staff who work in the building. We don't pay for parking neither does anyone who visits and have superb download speeds. Uploading photographs takes us moments where it used to take 15 / 20 minutes and we have all the fabulous amenities too. We all believe that in a few years estate agents will all be in buildings like this. We are the first! We are very much open to the public and welcome anyone to come and see us in our plush and very nice office.
The model of MAP is simple. Our Local Directors (Andy, Mark, Shelly, Russell and Ben) all work and live in their chosen locations. They will be in the sales office a couple of times a week. The rest of the time they will be working from home or in and around the areas they cover. They also can work more flexibly than normal agents so later appointments are more possible and we can work around your commitments. They have three responsibilities .
1) They will visit anyone in their area who is looking to sell and provide them with honest, constructive and simple advice about the value of their home, how much it will cost to move and the services and marketing we would recommend to get the best price possible in a timescale to suit you.
2) They will then conduct all viewings arranged by the sales office on your home. They know it best. You will not have someone showing your home who doesn't know it. No other agent offers this level of 1-1 service
3) if your home doesn't sell they will visit you personally (we recommend monthly) to discuss and review the marketing and make suggestions as for the next approach. This can of course be over the phone, we much prefer face to face however.
We have all worked in the standard office environment at a management level or above. We know these three things, combined don't happen with estate agents as there are other things that get in the way. By separating these roles we can provide this to our clients.
The sales team therefore deal with the phone calls, visits and all enquiries. They know the areas of Cornwall really well and love working with buyers and helping them find their dream home. By covering a wider area we can make more suggestions and recommendations than your average estate agent too. We are also highly skilled at negotiation, sales progression and explaining things in plain old English! These factors are often simply overlooked when you consider your estate agent. We are also very experienced so anyone you touch at MAP will know their stuff.
So in summary we do all the things that your normal estate agent does, except we don't have an office on your High Street. We also do a lot more, are more personal and have one of the most experienced teams anywhere!
Finally, and perhaps best of all, when I created the business he was adamant that MAP changed the way that customers worked with estate agents in Cornwall. Every estate agent (unless you employ an online only one and they want money upfront) will ask you to commit to them for a nominated period of time. Rather like a mobile phone contract you are tied into that estate agent regardless of what happens and what has been promised to you. This is often 12 - 30 weeks. We don't do that at all. At MAP we have a no strings approach to our contract. We take your home onto the market and we start. If at any stage you are unhappy, don't feel comfortable or we have let you down then we simply need two weeks written notice and you are free. We therefore have to work hard to keep you happy, not deceive, lie or tell you things you want to hear just to buy your business and you are stuck with that agent for months before being able to do anything about it. In our opinion that's working for the estate agent and not for you.
We also know that Estate Agents don't talk about this period until you are about to 'sign on the dotted line'. Most sellers want to know how much the agent would sell it for and how much they would charge? Please also consider 'How long do they want for their contract?' At MAP this is simple - 'WE DONT HAVE ANY TIME'.
So we know this has been long and we hope it makes sense? However we really wanted to emphasise all the genuine and very different reasons we are different as an estate agent and we really hope you would allow us to come and visit you for free and without obligation to get our advice initially.
