Richard took over the management of my apartment about a year ago and inherited a bit of a shambles as the letting agent I had used for years had, unbeknownst to me, let the place slide in terms of both maintenance and admin. After reading some great reviews - albeit a tiny bit sceptically - I chose Martin & Co and it was the best decision I could have made. Right from the start communications were excellent and Richard and his wife immediately put my mind at rest. Personally, I find efficient, family-run businesses like this which demonstrably have the customer's interests at the core of all they do pretty thin on the ground these days. Instructing Richard and his team to let my property was the easiest and best decision. From the moment I met with them I was confident in their services and they never once disappointed. The whole process was completely pain free; they took care of everything. Their fees are very reasonable and well worth the money. I just sat back and saw the rent coming in every month. We have recently purchased a property through Martin and Co St Albans. Will Lau was excellent - he understood what we wanted and didn't waste our time trying to force us to view things that weren't right for us (unlike a few other estate agents in the area who seem to send over anything and everything!). The whole team were really nice and helpful - we did a couple of viewings of the property after we had put the offer in, and they were always very accommodating and patient. I've had a lot of bad experience with landlords and estate agents in the past, and so Martin & Co. were nothing short of a godsend. At every point during my 1year tenancy they were helpful, efficient, fast, reasonable, friendly and thorough. I was quite demanding and needed the house sooner than was advertised. Martin & Co. got the property perfectly ready in just 1 week to meet my needs. I also extended my tenancy at late notice which was also promptly sorted out. I lost my keys a couple of times and had one or two other issues, all of which were immediately and efficiently sorted out with minimum of fuss. The integrated service of managing the property as well as being the estate agent is not something I've come across before, but it is an absolute game-changer. I never ever met my landlord and yet I was perfectly communicated with. I honestly couldn't recommend them any higher and if I am to find myself in their operating region again, I would genuinely accept a slightly worse or a more expensive property if it meant it could be let and managed by Martin & Co. Rarely do you get estate agents that really care about their clients as much as they do. All the staff at Martin and Co. St Albans are great and really care about finding you the right property. The service doesn't stop there, as if there are problems they are very quick to get them rectified. I couldn't recommend this estate agent more highly. My husband and I have rented properties for over 10 years and dealt with many estate agents. In all this time we can honestly say that we haven't meant one as good as Martin & Co. They are not only the friendliest agents we've ever dealt with but also the most efficient. The check in and checkout was seamless, nothing was ever too much trouble and they even took our meeting readings and updated our utility companies for us.
