In Cornwall, Miller Countrywide is and has been without question the market leader in this sector for a number of years.
The Counties of Devon and Cornwall continue to be extremely popular as an area for the purchase of second and holiday homes. Over recent years, interest from these types of prospective purchasers, alongside that of local people, has ensured that demand within the market has been and remains strong.
Miller Countrywide’s main strength, however, is in its network of large, main street Residential Offices located in prominent positions in most principal towns, coastal resorts and within the cities of Truro, Plymouth and Exeter. You will see our distinctive green and yellow house shaped boards on many hundreds of properties, of many differing styles and in all price ranges. In addition to our extensive range of local Offices, we are part of Countrywide plc which is the largest Estate Agency Group in the United Kingdom with over 1100 Offices countrywide. The ancient market town of Penryn is located at the Penryn River, approximately 3 miles from the port of Falmouth, one of the largest natural harbours in the world. Penryn is also conveniently positioned for easy access to the villages of Mylor Bridge with its yacht harbour, Mawnan Smith, Flushing and Constantine and the more inland village hamlets of Ponsanooth and Stithians all of which are within 8/9 miles of the Cathedral City of Truro.
Penryn town was first settled in 1216 and is one of Cornwall’s oldest settlements. It became a thriving port in the 1600s from where shipments of locally mined tin and copper were exported. Today, Penryn retains an enormous amount of its architectural heritage with an array of Tudor, Jacobean and Georgian style buildings which have established the town as an outstanding Conservation Area richly steeped in history. Penryn also now benefits from the Falmouth College of Arts at the Tremough Campus on the outskirts of the town.
