Lyme Regis is a select coastal resort and retirement town, famous for its historic town centre and the Cobb, which has been shown in feature films. It is situated on the South Dorset coast amid areas of outstanding natural beauty, in a sheltered bay with sandy and pebble beaches, that are well known by fossil hunters.
There are good local amenities in the town and the market town of Axminster is close by with a mainline railway station. The A35 is nearby which links with the A30/A303 giving access to the city of Exeter, the county town of Taunton, London and the South West, as well as regional airports.
