  • Introduction

    Bruce Shaw BSc (Hons) MRICS - Senior Partner

    Bruce first became involved in estate agency in 1986 joining Osenton Lamden in Ashtead village. Bruce returned to further education after which he worked for a period in London's West End qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor (RICS) in 1994. In 1996 Bruce decided to work local to home and returned to residential agency with Patrick Gardner & Co and became a full Partner of the firm in 1998. Bruce now heads up the sales side of the Leatherhead office.

    Bruce is an RICS Registered Valuer and undertakes 'Red Book' Valuations for Inheritance Tax purposes, Capital Gains Tax Valuations and Valuations for Matrimonial purposes. Bruce is also able to advise on development opportunities and has been involved in a number of schemes ranging from single unit sites to multiple unit sites.

    Bruce lives locally in Ashtead and is married with two children. He is involved in many aspects of the local community including managing a junior cricket team at Ashtead Cricket Club. He is also a keen gardener and when he has time indulges in his passion for fly fishing for trout and salmon.

    Tom Mason MNAEA - Associate
    Now in his 15th year with Patrick Gardner Residential, Tom has recently been made an Associate and manages the experienced and successful residential sales team in Leatherhead office. Tom has extensive local knowledge and prides himself on providing the highest standards of personal service. Educated at St John's School he now also lives in Leatherhead. Whilst Tom enjoys travelling, his main passions are outdoor sports, particularly snow skiing, he is also an enthusiastic golfer and most recently has taken up scuba diving.

    Andrew Dronfield MNAEA - Senior Negotiator
    After 35 years in estate agency, beginning in Cheshire, then in London and now here in Surrey, Andrew has worked for both corporate and independent estate agents. He has a wealth of local knowledge having worked in Leatherhead for almost 10 years. He still gets great enjoyment from helping both vendors and purchasers alike and thrives on the day to day challenges that the job brings. Living in Westhumble village, Andrew now has a little more leisure time as his children are now independent and enjoys cycling and can be regularly seen cycling into Leatherhead and around Box Hill.

    Janet Walton - Senior Negotiator
    Janet has worked for the company since 1995 and has overseen innumerable sales over the years. Flying freeholds, short leases, defective titles are just a fraction of the situations that she has resolved and brought to a successful conclusion. Prior to this she had her own business whilst her two children grew up and preceding that she worked in Fleet Street for 12 years. Janet enjoys playing golf, country walks and painting, she also loves football and is an avid Tottenham Hotspur supporter.

    Seeking a career in Estate Agency, Mike joined Patrick Gardner Residential in the spring of 2013 as a junior negotiator and has adjusted and learned quickly becoming a valued part of this vibrant sales team, having already played a role in many recent property sales. Living locally in the Epsom Downs area, Mike enjoys training in the gym, playing for Ashtead football Club and swimming.

    Caroline Bennett - Negotiator
    Caroline joined Patrick Gardner 5 years ago as a Negotiator in our Leatherhead Office. She has lived in Surrey most of her life and combines her experience as a negotiator with her excellent local knowledge of the area and her interest for property. She has three children who have been educated locally and lives with husband and children near Box Hill.

    Cathy Hooker - Secretary/Administrator
    Having lived in Mole Valley all her life and having worked for Patrick Gardner Residential since the very first day the firm opened, Cathy has extensive experience of the business. Cathy worked initially as Patrick's personal assistant (previously working with Patrick for Osenton Lamden Estate Agents) and is now a crucial member of the Leatherhead sales team in addition to overseeing the majority of the firm's administrative needs.Cathy is married to Douglas (Partner at our Ashtead office) and has a daughter Jenny. In her spare time she enjoys gardening and walking with her two rescue greyhounds.

    Vari Bowling - Partner
    Having enjoyed a varied career in media and publishing Vari decided a change of direction was called for after the birth of her second child Grace. Joining Patrick Gardner Residential in 2000 as a member of the Land and New Homes team her breadth of knowledge and drive saw her rapid advancement culminating in becoming a full partner of the firm in 2013.When not overseeing the new homes sales operation or co-ordinating our company's many marketing initiatives she likes to spend time enjoying a wide range of activities with her family and is currently learning to fly.
