When John Pattison & William Sim, both Paisley solicitors, started our firm in 1905, they quickly established the reputation of the firm for giving sound advice, acting with determination in the best interests of our clients, and working hard. This reputation is carried on by the firmís current partners, David Howat and Bridget McLaren.
Having being involved in the property market from the beginning, both as lawyers, and as estate agents, our ability is based on a combination of more than 100 years of experience, and a drive to embrace change and succeed in the modern business environment.
To put it another way Ė modern attitudes, with old-fashioned values.
Our senior partner, David Howat, grew up in the west end of Glasgow. He is an active and vocal advocate for the west end, having lead the successful opposition to a proposal by Glasgow City Council to allow a nightclub to be built in the Botanic Gardens. In his role as vice-convenor of Friends of Glasgow West, he assists in the review of all the planning applications within the Glasgow West Outstanding Conservation Area, the framing of objections as appropriate, and tackling various local issues relating to the built environment.
It was logical then that the firm would branch out in to the west end of Glasgow, which it did in 2000, with the opening of our office at 117 Byres Road, and with David Howat taking on the role of managing the estate agency office.
Bridget McLaren, who runs our conveyancing department, is a determined and highly capable advisor. She has helped hundreds of clients buy and sell properties in Glasgow, Renfrewshire, and beyond.
We know that you want to deal with agents that are capable, hard-working, and friendly. We are! So come in and see us. We love helping people to move house.
