    We have a dedicated and expert team dealing with the management of residential property, finding suitable tenants and maximizing rental income. Our database of potential tenants is constantly updated to ensure speedy and successful lettings.

    We also prepare a tenancy agreement on your behalf and explain to the tenant their obligations under that agreement. We will manage the property on your behalf and will deal with the inevitable problems that arise, as well as collecting the monthly rent. We can also organise the annual safety checks for gas appliances, and periodic safety checks of electrical appliances.

    On letting a property we prepare an inventory of all contents and their condition. We also keep a record of the internal decoration, so that if there is any damage during the period of the tenancy we have appropriate records available to pursue the matter on your behalf.

    Finding a tenant and then letting and managing a property can be stressful and time-consuming. Our aim is to take the strain out of the whole letting process and allow our customers get on with their lives.     Founded in 1884, R M English is one of the oldest independent estate and land agents in Yorkshire and have been selling and advising clients on property matters for almost 130 years. Our knowledge of the area and our commitment to providing clients the best possible service are our principal strengths.


    We pride ourselves on the friendliness and expertise of our staff. A fact endorsed by many clients who have returned to us time after time to sell their homes and who appreciate the personal attention and professionalism which is at the core of our business.


    Our directors are qualified Chartered Surveyors. They and our experienced staff, provide expert advice, whether you are buying or selling.


    We also have specialist departments dealing with New Homes, Residential Lettings, Commercial and Agricultural Property. We offer valuation and consultancy advice in all these areas.


    With offices in York and Pocklington we are able to cover most of North and East Yorkshire. From the historic city of York to the busy market towns in the surrounding areas and the attractive villages in the Howardian Hills, the Wolds and the Vale of York.

I now live in Market Weighton with my husband and two children.
