Roy Brooks has been a name in East Dulwich as a South East London Estate Agent since 1934. From 1950 until his death in 1971 his property advertisements in the Sunday Times and the Observer created national notoriety for one endearing reason; his puckish delight in telling the truth and sometimes even the unwholesome truth about the property he was selling, not only about the properties, but in his incomparable descriptions of their owners.
