      Simon has lived in and around Melton for 32 years and has 29 years' experience in Estate Agency both in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, the last 17 years of which have been with Shoulers. Simon lives in Melton with his wife, 2 teenage daughters and trusty Border Terrier 'Wiggins'. The self-confessed 'Petrol Head' spends a lot of his spare time in or underneath his Lotus sports car or at motor sport events around the country and enjoys a pint or 2 of real ale.

      Helen Montague - Commercial Surveyor

      Studying at the University of Northumberland Helen graduated with a BSc Honours Degree in 1987. Helen's early career, managing her own business and raising a young family, radically changed when she joined Shoulers in 2002 initially as a member of the Residential Sales and Lettings team and subsequently moving into their Commercial property department in 2006. Her interest in housing, commerce and architecture was enhanced by further qualifications when she gained a Technical Award in Commercial Property. She is a member of both the National Association of Estate Agents and the Institution of Commercial and Business Agents.

      Helen has two children completing University summer 2016 and lives with her partner Paul who has four children all in established careers. Their blended family provides a very active calendar and in her spare time Helen enjoys keeping fit in the gym or a challenge in the great outdoors! Past endeavours include cycling to Somerset, climbing the Three Peaks, skiing in the Alps, scuba diving in Cornwall and parachuting in Alnwick. More down to earth pursuits include visiting galleries, cinema, cooking, socialising with friends and travelling.

      Ben has been part of the family business since school holidays allowed him to earn a shilling helping out in the auction room from the age of 14. Having obtained a Btec National Diploma in Business & Finance from Brooksby College as well as an Honours Degree in Rural Estate Management from Seale Hayne Agricultural College he joined the company in 2000 and rose to a full partner in 2009.

      He is a keen sportsman regularly turning out for Melton Rugby Club, playing weekly indoor football and tries to get one or two games of golf in each year. He also has a passion for old and vintage cars and is a member of several sports car clubs. He really would like to find an old vintage car in a farmers barn so if you have one then call him!

      Ben has also been an auctioneer at Melton Mowbray Market for over 16 years and now heads the stores and reared cattle sections.

      Newly joined this year.

      When I'm not at work I'm a farmer, butcher, hedgelayer and petrolhead. Along with 7 others I hold the record team score for the schools national target rifle competition held annually at Bisley.

      Henry the Patterdale cross jack Russell terrier heads up the livestock section at home which also includes sheep, hens, cattle and pigs ! The current Mrs Baines is yet to allow ferrets back on to the team despite my and our 7 year old daughter, Ellie's efforts to persuade her!!

      Emily Barnacle - Graduate Surveyor

      Emily joined Shouler & Son in September 2016 after graduating in June 2016 with a BSc (Hons) in Rural Enterprise and Land Management from Harper Adams University. Her placement year was spent with the Northumberland Estates in Surrey. During the summer breaks from Harper, Emily spent three summers working on cattle ranches in Texas and Oklahoma.

      After returning to her home county, Emily undertakes a variety of work both at the Agricultural Office and Stoke Rochford Estate, and is studying for her RICS and CAAV exams.

      When not at work, she can be found riding her horse, Molly, or walking the golden retriever Tess. She enjoys cooking recipes, often taken from Auntie Sheila, whilst drinking a gin and tonic and spending time with family and friends.
