    Established in 2006, Stags' Yeovil office is ideally positioned on the Dorset/Somerset border and is the firm's most easterly branch. The office can be easily found in Park Road, with convenient parking close by at Tesco. The team deals principally with the valuation and sale of farms, country property, equestrian property, as well as houses and bungalows in the numerous small towns and villages in the area.

    Yeovil and the surrounding area...
    The town has good communications, being a short distance from the A303 to London (130 miles) and Taunton (30 miles). Its rail links are excellent and there are two railway stations: Yeovil Pen Mill and Yeovil Junction.

    Ham Hill, just to the south of Yeovil, has for centuries provided the lovely honey coloured stone for the construction of property in pretty villages, such as East and West Coker. Stags also deal with properties going out towards the Somerset Levels, up to the Mendip Hills and to the east into the Blackmore Vale.

    Yeovil has close associations with the aircraft and defence industries and is home to Augusta Westland (helicopter manufacturers), as well as Normalair Garratt (who make aircraft oxygen systems). The town has two aerodromes, Yeovil Aerodrome and RNAS Yeovilton. The Quedam Shopping Centre has around 45 shops, plus there are many good independent shops.

He has lived in South Somerset for over 30 years, Ashton studied Surveying and Cartography - ideal grounding for someone entering the property profession. Ashton started at Stags working in the various livestock markets and outside sales of live and deadstock, before changing to residential sales in the late 1980s. His success at selling residential properties is attributable to a thorough understanding not only of the marketing involved, but also the personalities of the different parties within a transaction. His expertise in appraising a property and considering the best way to sell it and how to add value in terms of planning potential and timing, has achieved outstanding results for Stags and the firm recognised this by making Ashton an Associate Partner in 2007.

    Claire Staniforth- Lettings Manager
    For landlords and tenants in the East Devon area, Residential Lettings Manager and Negotiator Claire Staniforth offers a dedicated and highly efficient service. Claire, who moved to Devon 20 years ago, has worked for Stags since 2010 and in that time has taken and passed the technical award in Residential Lettings and Property Management to become a member of ARLA. As a senior member of Honitons Lettings Department, Claire oversees the daily running of the department with the aim of continuing its growth, and provides potential landlords with market appraisals, using her detailed knowledge of rental values and the local market. She will research comparable properties to provide competitive, realistic rental figures and draws up tenancy agreements between landlords and tenants. Claire can advise on a wide range of lettings matters including schedules of conditions and inventories, good management practice, landlord/tenant liabilities, tenancy agreements/referencing, buy-to-let and legal aspects of lettings and property management.
