    Restless Beings Page Launched officially in May 2008 and proudly supported and sponsored by Victorstone, Restless Beings puts a voice to the voiceless, marginalised and persecuted communities around the world who struggle in the face of inequality and imbalance every day. The UK-based charity has forged links and contacts with NGOs (Non-Governmental Organisations) around the world as well as creating a network of students and professionals from all four corners of the globe who are consistently coming up with ideas, projects and campaigns, all designed to reach silenced and forgotten communities and to make a real, tangible difference to their lives forever.

    Project Examples The first project was established in the ninth largest city in the world, Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. It is home to approximately 17 million people and United Nations estimates put the number of homeless 'street children' at anywhere between 250,000 and 400,000. Restless Beings is working with these kids to provide education, nutrition, accommodation, medical aid, vocational support and psychological counselling. Restless Being's second project is based in Kyrgyzstan, a landlocked country in central Asia bordered by Kazakhstan to the north, Uzbekistan to the west, Tajikistan to the southwest and China to the east. They have formed a partnership with a woman's rights organisation based in the capital city of Bishkek to provide support to victims of 'Ala Kachuu', a form of bride kidnapping that is largely non-consensual and often involves the violent mistreatment and rape of women, as well as domestic violence and any other women's rights issues through the provision of a crisis centre and telephone helpline. There are two more projects in advanced stages of research. The first will look at human rights violations faced by the Rohingya community on the border of Bangladesh and Burma and the second will look at ways to combat prejudice of the Roma community here in the UK.
