    Paul Dixon - Owner and Auctioneer

    Born and bred into Estate Agency, Paul proudly leads his headstrong team into all directions of this diverse business.

    Paul's popularity and in-depth agricultural knowledge encourages reoccurring business, and his involvement in the Holmfirth Cattle Market as Auctioneer adds to his extensive profile. His high standards and prudent business morals and strong business principles continue to excel the reputation of Wm Sykes.

    Rob Dixon - Sales Manager and Valuer
    The eldest son of Paul Dixon, Rob joined the company in 1998, after studying valuation and surveying at Staffordshire University. Like his Dad, Rob is fully devoted to his strong family values and is passionate about moving the company forward whilst retaining its heritage. Robs main role is at the front of house where he is passionate about offering a comprehensive first class service. His regular valuation appointments allow him to keep well informed of the local market and surrounding areas, and build relationships with longstanding clients. His enthusiasm about his job is contagious, and with his involvement in all aspects of the daily running of the business, Rob is keen to retain the high standards that have been continually grown throughout the years and is positive about the strategic plans to grow the company in the future.

    John Green - RICS Chartered Surveyor
    John has brought a vast wealth of experience since joining the company in 1996. Having gained a qualification as a Chartered Surveyor in 1984 John worked for a very well known independent estate agent as an associate partner before joining Wm Sykes. Invited to the company by Paul Dixon to modernise and refurbish the offices, John also used his experience and worked hard to increase the property portfolio for Wm Sykes and promote the company in the residential sales category to complement the already successful auction and agricultural category. With John's extensive experience within the industry he has built widespread knowledge of properties in the local and surrounding areas. This has promoted his professionalism and reliability to build a strong reputation encouraging repeated business by offering a high class service for independent surveys.

    John Firth RICS - Rentals and Agricultural
    John is a longstanding dedicated member of the team who brought with him his qualification as a chartered Surveyor with a speciality in rural practice. He has worked for small private practices and national companies, and has experience working in the livestock markets in Huddersfield & Penistone, and closely with Paul Dixon on other jobs. A niche in the market for rental properties was soon recognised and although still heavily involved in surveying, John gladly stepped into the role. He now runs our very successful rentals department where he is heavily involved in all aspects of rentals, from valuing the properties and preparing the marketing particulars, to meeting the high demands of both landlords and tenants. Even though Wm Sykes are now well and truly established within the rentals sector, promoting and increasing the rentals portfolio is on John's list of priorities, and with his dedication and attentiveness to both landlords and tenants his reputation excels him.

    Lisa Blackburn - Senior Sales Negotiator
    Lisa has an extensive background within estate agency, having worked for corporate national companies and independent companies, as well as flourishing in a directorship within an independent estate agent. Consolidating all of her knowledge and experience, Lisa has now settled into her senior negotiators position at WM Sykes. Her managerial experience and strong ethical values lead her to recognise the importance of 'running a tight ship', and she has built a positive reputation within the office for specific protocol and procedures. Her bubbly personality and eagerness to please is always recognised with the fantastic feedback she receives from happy vendors.

Her previous experience within a corporate estate agent gave her a great introduction to the negotiating role, and since joining WM Sykes she has widened her experience by also getting involved in the residential rentals department.

    Clair Paxman -
    The newest member of the ever growing team, Clair's background originates in commercial business sales where her role as sales negotiator within a national company provided an introduction to the trade but developed her ambition for residential sales. Clair moved on to join an independent residential estate agents where she became heavily involved in both sales and rentals and trained to become a valuer. Progressing to set up and manage a local branch, Clair developed her skills in managerial duties as well as gaining further valuing experience. After having a baby in 2009 Clair returned to estate agency 2 years later, and resumed her valuing role, but soon became to realise her passion in visual presentation on houses and interior design, and set up her own company in Home Staging. Before too long Clair became to miss the interaction and momentum of the daily running of estate agents so joined WM Sykes to help Rob with business development Combining her experience and her passion, along with the expertise package WM Sykes are able to offer, Clair can offer a unique Home Staging Service in the local area, offering a very proactive way of preparing a property for sale.

    Yvonne is a longstanding and very valuable member of the team, who joined the company as a school leaver in 1985. Yvonne's role as head of the administration department means her daily duties form a vital part of the smooth running of the business, not a lot can happen within the company without Yvonne! Her 25 year loyalty within the company was recognised when she enjoyed a cruise around the Canary Islands in 2011 as a thank you from the management for her dedication.
