    Wrights was founded in 1983 by Melvin Wright with his first branch opening in Hatfield. Due to Melvin and his team's hard work and determination Wrights really took off and they were soon chosen as the re-location agents for British Aerospace.

    10 years after Wrights first opened its doors in Hatfield, Melvin made the decision, with the help of his brother Graham to open another branch, so in 1993 Wrights of Welwyn Garden City was founded. Soon to follow was the Stevenage branch. Wrights had made their mark in Hertfordshire!

    Today, Wrights are proud to still be an independent estate agency with its own unique values and ethos. We have been in business and grown in Hertfordshire for over 40 years and our experience in helping our customers to buy, sell or rent their properties is second to none.

    We are proud and privileged to work alongside The Willow Foundation. Founded by former Arsenal goalkeeper and TV presenter, Bob Wilson and his wife Megs. It is a lasting memorial to their daughter, Anna, who died of cancer aged 31. Anna's love of life and the enriching experiences of her own special days were the charity's inspiration.

    Willow aims to provide unique and unforgettable special days tailored to the individual's needs. Willow is the only national charity working with seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40 to fulfil uplifting and unforgettable special days. Since 1999 Willow has fulfilled more than 14,000 Special Days for young adults living with life-threatening conditions.

    We are so proud of our fantastic team, who go out of their way to support the Willow and to think up new and exciting ways to help on Willow fundraising days bringing together the local community and many businesses in the area.

    Taking the legwork out of getting a mortgage...

    Using a professional to find your mortgage deal is now a very necessary step. Due to changes in lending practice, mortgage lenders look at a whole range of factors to decide whether they should lend to you. This makes it practically impossible to guess which lender will or will not give you the deal you want.

    At Premier Property Solutions, we work for you. We will analyse all your information and research the mortgage market using software which is updated daily. We can then filter out the lenders which will not lend to end up with a shortlist from which we can decide where to go. Factors involved in lending are no longer just your income and deposit. They include your outgoings, your time working, what you spend money on, your family size and other points they use to score you.

    The market has changed considerably over the last year, but we are here to make the mortgage process simple.

    In short this is what we do:
    1. We get to know you by asking you questions about your current situation, your work history, your earnings, your credit information (what debts you have and any adverse mortgage or lending history) and what your intentions are for the future such as do you intend to move again in the near future.

    2. We can then look at what sort of rate you want, but also advise you on the type of rate or deal that may be best suited to you. For example a fixed rate may be best but if you need flexibility to make substantial repayments, a fixed rate may not offer this feature.

    3. We then research the market and can make a recommendation as to the lender and deal that best fits your needs, your affordability, your future needs and future affordability. The worst thing you can do is get a mortgage which in 3 years becomes unaffordable. We are there to make sure your plans stay intact.

    4. When we have agreed the best lender and deal, and when you are ready to apply we do our best to make sure your application goes through smoothly first time. Having a lender reject an application will have an impact on future applications, and this is why a broker is now more important than ever.

    5. We also oversee the whole process from liaising with the lender, the solicitor and you as well as any other companies involved such as the valuer.

    Melvin is the founder and director of Wrights and has a busy and involved role managing all three of our branches. Melvin was already an experienced estate agent with a great deal of local knowledge when he founded our Hatfield branch in 1983. Due to the ongoing success at Hatfield he decided to open a further branch in Welwyn Garden City in 1993 and this was shortly followed by another branch opening in Stevenage. Melvin has created a successful independent agency with a family feel where the customer always comes first. Melvin is also passionate about the local community and supporting Willow by raising funds for this worthwhile cause, and he recently won a 'Special Fundraising Award' from Agents Giving.

    Hayley has been with the Wrights team for over 21 years and is the lettings manager for Hatfield and Stevenage. She also looks after the block management site in Stevenage. She has a varied role and ensures that all aspects of the lettings department run smoothly. Hayley is also responsible for keeping up to date with all of the new lettings legislation and managing any changes. In her spare time Hayley keeps busy playing netball in a local league and she also enjoys cycling and reading.

Chloe has a good eye for detail and potential and this allows her to provide a first class service to both buyers and vendors. Chloe is looking forward to a long and enjoyable career in the industry and has proved to be a key member within our Sales Team. Josie loves her job and likes the varied and busy nature of the role. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her three beautiful grandchildren. She is also a big heavy metal fan and likes to go to concerts whenever she can.
