Cumbria, with an overall average price of £169,225 was more expensive than nearby Lancashire (£146,188), Greater Manchester (£157,843) and Merseyside (£146,841). The most expensive area within Cumbria was Grasmere (£519,375) and the cheapest was Bolton Low Houses (£86,250).
In the past year house prices in Cumbria were similar to the year before and similar to 2008 when they averaged at £171,892.
