Most of the sales in Cumbria over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £124,478. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £167,398 and detached properties averaged at £281,999.
Cumbria, with an overall average price of £177,001, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Greater Manchester (£171,459), but was more expensive than Lancashire (£154,243) and Merseyside (£156,080). The most expensive area within Cumbria was Hawkshead (£616,730) and the cheapest was Maryport (£95,896).
In the past year house prices in Cumbria were similar to the year before and similar to 2008 when they averaged at £173,074.
