South Wales, with an overall average price of £160,350, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby West Wales (£161,794) and North Wales (£162,821), but was cheaper than Mid Wales (£172,320). The most expensive area within South Wales was Monmouthshire (£239,643) and the cheapest was Blaenau Gwent (£85,903).
In the past year house prices in South Wales were similar to the year before and 4% up on 2007 when they averaged at £154,363.
