House Prices in South Wales

Most of the sales in South Wales over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £110,792. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £142,675 and detached properties averaged at £236,616.

South Wales, with an overall average price of £150,044, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby West Wales (£152,961) and North Wales (£154,045), but was cheaper than Mid Wales (£201,967). The most expensive area within South Wales was Monmouthshire (£218,034) and the cheapest was Blaenau Gwent (£81,878).

In the past year house prices in South Wales were similar to the year before and 3% down on 2007 when they averaged at £154,253.
