Most of the sales in South Wales over the past year were terraced properties which on average sold for £123,561. Semi-detached properties had an average sold price of £163,554 and detached properties averaged at £275,710.
South Wales, with an overall average price of £171,712, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby West Wales (£168,877) and North Wales (£172,703), but was cheaper than Mid Wales (£202,063). The most expensive area within South Wales was Monmouthshire (£257,816) and the cheapest was Blaenau Gwent (£95,698).
In the past year house prices in South Wales were similar to the year before and 7% up on 2014 when they averaged at £160,319.
