Last year most property sales in Belmont involved semi-detached properties which sold for on average £143,526. Detached properties sold for an average price of £265,208, while terraced properties fetched £123,543.
Belmont, with an overall average price of £169,092 was more expensive than nearby Sacriston (£105,384) and Coxhoe (£124,951), but was cheaper than Durham (£179,521).
During the last year, sold prices in Belmont were 8% up on the previous year and 9% up on 2006 when the average house price was £154,693.
