Last year most property sales in Malton involved detached properties which sold for on average £270,350. Semi-detached properties sold for an average price of £269,425, while terraced properties fetched £162,080.
Malton, with an overall average price of £235,341 was more expensive than nearby Pickering (£214,979) and Kirkbymoorside (£207,060), but was cheaper than Thornton Dale (£282,390).
During the last year, sold prices in Malton were 15% up on the previous year and 14% up on 2006 when the average house price was £207,113.
