Last year most property sales in New Mills involved terraced properties which sold for on average £131,009. Semi-detached properties sold for an average price of £172,986, while detached properties fetched £275,065.
New Mills, with an overall average price of £158,177 was cheaper than nearby High Peak (£192,465), Hayfield (£276,542) and Whaley Bridge (£217,574).
During the last year, sold prices in New Mills were 10% up on the previous year and 5% down on 2008 when the average house price was £165,902.
