Most of the sales in Newton Aycliffe over the past year were semi-detached properties which on average sold for £110,495. Terraced properties had an average sold price of £78,338 and detached properties averaged at £170,665.
Newton Aycliffe, with an overall average price of £117,655, was similar in terms of sold prices to nearby Bishop Auckland (£114,081), but was more expensive than Shildon (£82,455) and Ferryhill (£65,836).
In the past year house prices in Newton Aycliffe were similar to the year before and similar to 2007 when they averaged at £120,496.
