Most of the sales in Penwortham over the past year were semi-detached properties which on average sold for £151,517. Detached properties had an average sold price of £224,311 and terraced properties averaged at £113,483.
Penwortham, with an overall average price of £163,606 was more expensive than nearby Preston (£141,581), but was cheaper than New Longton (£215,700) and Hutton (£212,108).
In the past year house prices in Penwortham were similar to the year before and 6% down on 2007 when they averaged at £174,586.
