Last year most property sales in Redcar involved semi-detached properties which sold for on average £118,987. Detached properties sold for an average price of £180,729, while terraced properties fetched £95,732.
Redcar, with an overall average price of £127,517 was cheaper than nearby Marske-By-The-Sea (£137,924), Saltburn-By-The-Sea (£184,014) and Guisborough (£158,783).
During the last year, sold prices in Redcar were similar to the previous year and 5% down on 2007 when the average house price was £133,968.
