Most of the sales in Tyne And Wear over the past year were semi-detached properties which on average sold for £157,872. Terraced properties had an average sold price of £138,825 and flats averaged at £109,201.
The most expensive area within Tyne And Wear was Jesmond (£285,238) and the cheapest was Chilton Moor (£90,577).
In the past year house prices in Tyne And Wear were 4% up on the year before and 7% up on 2010 when they averaged at £147,410.
