Last year most property sales in Whaley Bridge involved detached properties which sold for on average £353,832. Terraced properties sold for an average price of £164,590, while semi-detached properties fetched £215,323.
Whaley Bridge, with an overall average price of £244,139 was more expensive than nearby Chinley (£223,900), Chapel-En-Le-Frith (£210,713) and New Mills (£178,029).
During the last year, sold prices in Whaley Bridge were 6% up on the previous year and 8% up on 2009 when the average house price was £225,205.
