About the Development
The ancient market town of Ampthill lies at the heart of rural Mid Bedfordshire among open, wooded countryside, interspersed by small, attractive villages.
Much of the town centre is a conservation area with several listed Georgian buildings, some dating back to the 17th century.
This wealth of history does not mean however, that time has stood still in Ampthill. Old thatched cottages have been transformed into enviable living accommodation and the main streets are lined with elegant houses which meet at the Market Square. An eclectic combination of shops, restaurants and public houses provide the perfect setting for a stroll into town with antique shops, small boutiques and local run convenience stores adding to the quaint setting.
The expansion of neighbouring town, Flitwick, has meant that Ampthill has become a haven for discerning commuters to Bedford and London St Pancras. Close to the M1, those who commute by road will have easy access to Milton Keynes, Northampton and Rugby in the North and Luton, St Albans and Watford in the South
