Comprising of 3, 4 and 5 bedroom properties, Ferrers Park combines the traditional with the contemporary. Cotswold Stone exteriors allow the properties to blend in with the surrounding traditional architecture, whilst the Heritage interiors allow for all the requirements of modern life.
Lechlade-on-Thames is a small market town located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) in the Eastern section of the Cotswold Water Park. At the centre of the town is the market place where a monthly market for locally produced foods was reinstated in 2010 to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the granting of the town's Market Charter. There is plenty to do in Lechlade, with many local walks around the town including part of the Thames Path, six pubs and leisure activities such as sailing and fishing available on the lakes.
Ferrers Park is situated to the North of Lechlade, alongside Horseshoe Lake and sits just outside the AONB. Due to the location of Ferrers Park, it is likely that a majority of the houses will either enjoy a view of the lake or the AONB.
The town has a post office and a general store, while for your main grocery shop, Swindon has all the major supermarkets represented.
For doctors, register with Lechlade Medical Centre on Oak Street (01367 252264), while dentists can be found at Lechlade Dental Practice on Burford Street (01367 252080)
With a tourist trade comes a wealth of excellent restaurants, and Lechlade diners are truly spoiled for choice. Try Pinos, Colleys or L'Artigiano in the town, or River Vale or the Riverside beside the river.
As you would expect from the Cotswolds, there is also an endless choice of old country inns in the area, most of which do excellent food. The Old Swan, the Trout and the Five Alls are all highly recommended.
Education can be a concern in rural areas, but not in Lechlade. The town has its own popular primary school, St Lawrence Church of England Primary, at the heart of the community, where all local children attend, while younger children looked after by Lechlade Little Learners Pre-School.
Older children will naturally have to travel to school, but it's well worth the trip, with the nearby Farmors School rated 'outstanding' in the latest OFSTED report. There is a regular school bus from Lechlade to Farmors.
As a popular tourist destination, Lechlade has plenty of leisure activities on offer, including sailing and riverboat trips, as well as a much anticipated annual music festival that takes place over three days in May.
There is a strong sense of community in the town, with a huge range of clubs and societies to take part in, from cricket and tennis to scouts and air cadets, many of which are centred on the Memorial Hall or Pavilion Hall. Lechlade Theatregoers run regular coach trips to nearby theatres, or you can take to the stage yourself with Lechlade players. Lechlade Community Cinema holds regular film screenings in the town.
Lechlade has a wealth of quaint antique shops to browse away your afternoon, as well as a number of small independent shops and stores. Nearby Swindon has much more to offer, including the Brunel Centre, The Parade Shopping Centre, Orbital Shopping Park and the big name bargains of Swindon designer Outlet. For a quieter shopping experience, try historic Cirencester, with its assortment of fascinating smaller stores.
Lechlade lies on the crossroads of the A361 Swindon road and the A417 Cirencester road, offering easy access across the region. Swindon is just 13 miles, Cirencester 14 miles and Oxford 26 miles.
Lechlade has a regular bus service to both Cirencester and Swindon, as well as a community minibus that is available for use by all local groups.
Swindon station has over 570 parking spaces, making it easy to park and ride as part of your commute. Trains to London Paddington take just over an hour, with as many as four services per hour at peak times.
