About the Development

Bristol is the perfect fun and funky location for Redrow's groundbreaking Abode homes. Voted European Green Capital in 2015 because of its ‘progressive, creative and conscious approach to urban living', the city shares so much in common with Abode's fresh new outlook on life and living.

Abode Bedminster offers a range of exciting new homes in Bristol.

Amenities

There is a convenience store on Bedminster Road, with a Lidl and Tesco Express close by. The nearest large supermarket is the Sainsburys store on Winterstoke Road.

For doctors, register with The Malago Surgery on St John's Street (Sat Nav BS3 4JE, call 0117 966 3587) and for dentists try Easton Dental Practice on North Street (Sat Nav BS3 1HT, call 0117 963 7670).

Dining

Bedminster's West Street is home to a number of excellent restaurants, including Zall Tandoori, Mezzaluna Cafe and the Thai Garden, and there are many more great eateries to be found along North Street. The area also has a several friendly pubs offering great food, including the Brunel, the Black Cat and the Albert Inn.

Head into Bristol City Centre and you will be spoiled for choice, with a huge range of restaurants from all corners of the world, offering something for every taste and budget. Remember, with the city so close, you don't have to add an expensive taxi fare to your bill.

Education

Abode is all about living life your way, and Bristol education is exactly the same. You can choose from a number of good local primary schools, including Parson Street Primary and Victoria Park Primary which are both within a short walk of home, as well as the OFSTED ‘Good' rated Ashton Park senior school which is just a short bus ride away.

Alternatively, Bristol also has a good selection of independent education, with Bristol Grammar School offering top quality private schooling from an early age, and Clifton High School also providing excellent private education for older children.

Leisure

Bristol is a thriving cosmopolitan cultural city, which is very much in tune with the ethos and attitude of Abode living. Nothing shows this better than Bristol's Street Art, with original Banksy murals dotted around the city and an annual Bedminster Street Art Festival held each year. The city also hosts a unique festival of puppetry along with a popular short film festival.

The cultural theme continues into the evening, with Bristol very much the place to be, with a choice of friendly bars, clubs and performance venues including the famous Hippodrome, the Old Vic and the Redgrave Theatre, along with the quirky programme on show at the Tobacco Factory in Bedminster itself.

Sports fans will find Bristol City's Ashton Gate ground conveniently close, with Bedminster Cricket Club and Broad Plains Rugby and Social Club offering both sports and social life.

Shopping

Bedminster has a thriving local community and is known as Bristol's second largest shopping area after the city centre itself. Centred on North Street, West Street and East Street, there is something for everyone, from lively markets to interesting independent stores, major chains to local butchers and greengrocers. With so much available right on your doorstep, you may never need to venture into the city to shop.

However Bristol city centre is still well worth investigating, as it is famous for its shopping, including the Galleries and Cabot Circus shopping centres. You'll also find excellent out of town shopping around the city, such as the Avonmead Retail Park and South Bristol Retail Park.

Transport

Abode Bedminster lies just a mile and a half from the city centre, making it an easy walk if you want to avoid the city centre traffic jams and parking problems. There are also regular busses into town.

The development lies close to the A38, which links to Bristol Airport in just over 6miles, and crosses the A4, which leads east to Bath in just 14 miles, or west to the M5 in around 8miles. The M4 can be reached by crossing Bristol, or by taking the ring road to the M32 link road.

Trains from Bristol Temple Meads take around an hour and forty minutes to London, and there are also links to Exeter, Birmingham and Plymouth from the station.
