Think thin!

The Check House

At just 7ft wide, The Check House in Framlingham, Suffolk is one of the UK’s thinnest houses. The bijou home is on the market for £95,000 and is only 309ft2.

Check it out now!

This unique and cosy home was once part of a steam mill and is the last remaining Victorian part of the building. It then became a bookies and it wasn’t until eight years ago it was totally renovated into living accommodation.

While the property may be narrow (to say the least), the one-bedroom house could make an ideal bachelor pad or pied-a-terre. The Check House overlooks a communal garden and courtyard, and has an unusual upside-down design – the kitchen and living room are above the bedroom and bathroom.

If you fancy a compact home for yourself or just a bolthole away from it all check out these twee properties around the UK.

There is a house just off the carpark of The Ark Royal pub in Wells-Next-Sea,which I think would beat the one in Framlingham!

Have a look at mine little one up one down in Newport Pagnell, it’s sooo lovely, I’m sorry to leave but moving with work.

Within about half a mile of Marble Arch on the North side of Bayswater Road where I lived in 1950 there was a house known then as the smallest in Britain. It was squeezed betwen two others – I wonder if it’s still there?

The Check House is thin, but an end terrace in West Malvern is just 6ft wide, I can touch both walls

We would call that house a walk in wardrobe over here and the price lol,is quite frankly well!!!

There is a house in Headingley, Leeds, just off Grove Road leading to Shaw Lane. I think it is definitely thinner. My children always called it the thin house and we always wondered what it was like inside.

Very cute house. Not so keen on Joan Humphrey’s post – a blatant misuse of the comments box.
