The weekend before last saw the International Algarve Fair take place, which was then hailed as the best one yet by the thousands of people who attended. The was a queue forming at the entrance to the fair before the 11am opening time, and stall holders were still putting the finishing touches to their displays.

Organisers of the event had feared that due to the economic strain at the current time that the fair may not be so popular, however they were certainly proved wrong very quickly! The sun shone all day and the business exceeded everybody’s expectations; in fact it turned out to have record breaking numbers of visitors.

From the beginning to the end of the fair, a healthy flow of visitors passed through the gates, and although the Arts and Crafts tent was significantly smaller than in recent years, other areas of the fair flourished; in particular the Wine Show!

On offer was also a dog show which drew in huge crowds on both days. There was also a Business Zone where small product and service businesses could gain the attention of potential clients.
