According to a survey from ebookers.com, 15 per cent of those who took a holiday in the last year did so on their own as neither family or friends had enough money to go with them.

The ebookers.com survey also revealed that when it comes to travelling alone, men are twice as likely to take the plunge and go for a solo break.
In total, 22 per cent of men said that they had been for a holiday on their own, with 11 per cent of women saying the same.
Overall, 34 per cent of those who said they had taken solo holidays chose to head off to Europe, which could prove to be beneficial for those who own Spanish property or French property.
