Floor tiles are tan while the fitted cupboards are pine with a blue worktop and blue splash back tiles. There are two windows and a sloping wooden ceiling and here there is a strong Greek influence in the decor.

The courtyard has garden areas, storage and a path leads to a gate which opens on to a back lane. From here a metal staircase leads up to a separate apartment. Here the accommodation is versatile as it comprises 3 rooms with a bathroom tiled in white. Floor tiles are pale grey in 2 rooms and wood in another and a wooden ceiling.

On this floor, from two of the rooms French doors open on to a decking balcony with a covered pergola, and from the main entrance a spiral staircase leads up to this balcony.

The village of Gavalohori has cafes, shops and tavernas as well as places of historical interest.

Set in a beautiful wooded area, it is less than 10 minutes to the beach at the lively resort of Almyrida which has many facilities and a safe sandy beach. A little farther on is the little town of Kalyves with a long golden beach and all amenities.

Going inland, it is a short drive to the municipal centre of Vamos with many amenities, cafes and tavernas.

Gavalohori is one of the many picturesque villages in the Apokoronas area of Crete and is situated in the heart of wooded countryside yet still close to some great beaches.
