Villa Lamari was originally built as a house by the Rousselis family who are of Venetian origin and gave the name Rousselatika to the local area. In the 19th century they converted the building into an olive press, which continued well into the 70's. Kostas Roussellis eventually sold it to a sculptor who has lovingly restored it, combining its authentic feel with beautiful simplicity. The old oak doors, huge Cypress beams supporting a low-sloping roof and traditional Byzantine tiles combine tastefully with the discrete modernity of air-conditioning, oak kitchen, spacious bedrooms with internet access and luxurious bathrooms. The grey Kavalla flagstones of the terrace blend perfectly with the natural stone of the walls and lead to a spectacular infinity pool into which cascades a calming water feature displaying a striking sculpture by the owner. A verandah, small pergola by the pool, barbecue and large covered dining area complete the picture.

Although wonderfully peaceful, a 5 minute drive takes you down to the beaches of the north coast and the nearest village with shops, banks and supermarkets. Kassiopi is a 15 minute drive and Corfu Town is 40 minutes.

Entrance to the house is through a porch and two large oak doors with their original iron work and into a living room which reveals a large double-height space with oak beams and an old fireplace. Two double doors open onto the west terrace and three 5 metre sliding glass doors lead onto the north terrace and outside dining area.

On the ground floor is the master bedroom with fitted cupboards and connecting doors to the 2nd bedroom and there is further 3rd bedroom. All are double bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, rain-head and hand showers, basin and heated towel rails. There are insect screens on the windows, air-conditioning and a separate exit from each room through French windows to a secluded terrace.

The oak kitchen with views into the olive groves has a double sink with triflow filter, Fisher and Paykel fridge/freezer with ice maker and filtered water dispenser, Fisher and Paykel top-loading 2 drawer dishwasher, Fisher & Paykel gas hob and double electric oven.

Overlooking the living room is a large mezzanine, which is currently used as a TV room and through double doors is a room used as an office, library and music centre. There are fitted cupboards and storage space into the eaves.

The large utility room was originally a small stable for the horse, which turned the mill wheel, and now houses airing cupboards and double sink. There is also a cloakroom with WC and basin.

The house has underfloor heating which with the air-conditioning makes the property suited to year round living. It is also wired throughout for telephone and internet access as well as wifi.

Externally there is an acre of land with olive, orange, lemon, fig and other trees as well as numerous plants. The terrace is large and on two sides of the house with a private eleven metre infinity pool overlooked by a pergola. On the terrace are a covered dining area with views of the sea and sunset. Walks lead through the olive groves in all directions and most of the outlying land is uninhabited.

On the plot down from the main property is a modern summer house of 100sqm sqm which includes a kitchen and shower room and is currently used by the present owners as an office and creative studio owners. The building has a large flat roof with panoramic views of sea and mountains and could be converted very easily to a two bedroom cottage or kept for its current purpose. There is air-conditioning and underfloor heating throughout as well as telephone and internet access connected to the main house together with an intercom facility.
