Whichever way you look at it, Talay Sawan is a truly super-luxury villa development small enough to be highly exclusive. Having started construction in 2009, the community is currently half-completed.
The quality of the villas is of the highest standards that you are likely to find in Thailand. Construction of the project has been a labour of love for the developers because top quality materials, such as hardwood floorboards, have been used throughout. Unlike many villas in the Pattaya area which are bungalows, the villas at Talay Sawan are all two-storey. Each villa has its own swimming pool of large sizes compared to those found at most competing villa developments. The architecture used in the villas is typically Thai, with water features and, in many cases, steep gabled roofs.
There are four different types of villas to choose from. Type D is the entry level. With 303m2 of interior space, providing a three-bedroom/four-bathroom unit, it is still a huge villa though.
At the opposite end of the range is the enormous 700m2 Type C, containing four bedrooms and five bathrooms, plus a maids room and a home theatre/games room. Occupying a 1200m2 plot and enjoying excellent sea views from the top floor, this home is more like a miniature palace than a standard villa!
Some of the villas at Talay Sawan are completed already and so are ready to move into straight away. Those wishing to make amendments to the four standard designs can buy one which is built to order, which takes 12-18 months to complete.
Although certainly not the most affordable option on the market, if you are looking for the ideal retirement home or winter get-away and want to live as close as possible to beautiful and unspoiled beaches, Talay Sawan is a project which has few equals.
