Full description:

An imposing gate leads up the sweeping driveway, bordered by established shrubs and trees, to the house which sits comfortably on the crest of the slope.

Designed mainly on one level, this house is divided into two parts, one wing being the living accommodation and the other containing the bedrooms. The front door into the main entrance hall is in the middle of the house, with the living area to the left and the bedrooms to the right.

The hallway has a marble floor and a high beamed ceiling. A few wide shallow steps lead to the left and along a corridor at the back of the house. Two arched doorways open into a large airy sitting room which has three French windows looking onto a covered verandah. At one end of the living room is an open fireplace. The large separate, country style kitchen is at one end of the living room, with a back door leading out to the parking area/car port. From the kitchen there are windows overlooking the garden and the view and a glass patio door leads onto the terrace. The room is light and bright, simply furnished and has traditional black and white tiles on the floor.

An inner hallway is at the rear of the kitchen, where a curved flight of stairs lead up to the guest suite on the upper floor. Here is a large double bedroom with balcony, and an ensuite bathroom and a large walk-in box room. Off the hallway, next to the kitchen, is a useful separate WC/cloakroom.

The other wing of the house contains the bedrooms. There are two large double bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom and a shared dressing room which links the two rooms. There is also another room, currently used as a study, and a large linen/storage room.

The garden of the property is looking somewhat overgrown, but was once, and could be again, a really special garden. It was designed and planted by a well known garden designer and artist, and has many unusual plants and trees. There is also a lovely old style swimming pool, not currently in use and many secluded areas to sit and absorb the peaceful atmosphere.

At the lower end of the garden, near to the gate, is a totally separate guest or staff cottage, with one bedroom, a sitting room/kitchen and bathroom. This has its own parking area and is completely self contained.
